The U.S. Army Female Officer Green Service Uniform (AGSU), colloquially referred as "Pink and Greens," was approved on 11 November 2018, the 100th anniversary of the signing of the Armistice ending World War II. Its design was inspired by the Service Uniform worn by Army Officers from the early 1930s until approximately 1954 and the introduction of the Green Class A Service uniform, which was nicknamed "Greens" or "Army Greens."
Naturally, the primary components of the AGSU—a green Service Coat, tan Dress Shirt, and taupe Trousers—have generated the most conversation about the uniform not only because of their nod to an historic time in Army history, but also because of how removed the colors are from the Army Service Uniform and its dark blue coat and striped trousers. Other components include the green Garrison Cap, green Four-in-Hand Tie, and brown Oxford Shoes.
