Corporals are the lowest-ranking personnel authorized to wear shoulder marks, which are frequently referred to as epaulets or epaulettes—a situation which can lead to some confusion since Army regulations state officers and NCOs ”will wear shoulder marks on the epaulets of the black cardigan and black pullover sweaters” and on the "shoulder loops" of the black all-weather coat. In addition to these clothing items, Corporals also wear shoulder marks on the shoulder loops of the long- and short-sleeved uniform shirt and the maternity shirt; if the maternity tunic is being worn, pregnant Soldiers button the shirt’s shoulder loop over the top of the tunic shoulder piece to ensure the shoulder mark is visible.

Our Corporal shoulder marks are Berry Amendment-compliant, and per Army regulations, are manufactured in two sizes to accommodate the variations found in the shoulder loops of shirt and sweaters from different manufacturers. The Large shoulder mark is 4 ¼ inches long and tapers from 2 3/8 inches in width at the base and to  1 ¾ inches (1.75 inches at the top; the Small shoulder mark is an inch shorter in length and tapers in width from 2 1/8 inches at the base to 1 25/32 (1.78125) inches at the top.

All authorized personnel may wear either size shoulder mark with any of the aforementioned uniforms.
