U.S. ARMY ENLISTED FEMALE ASU SERVICE CAP DEVICE

The cap device worn by enlisted females in the United States Army has undergone very little change since the establishment of Women’s Auxiliary Army Corp in 1942 and its subsequent redesignation as the Women’s Army Corps in 1943.

Like their male counterparts, enlisted female Army personnel wear a cap device consisting of the Coat of Arms of the United States, but it is inside a ring that is 1.75” in diameter, while the male cap device features the Coat of Arms on a gold-colored disc with a diameter of 1.5 inches. Our female enlisted cap device is 22-karat gold-plated.

Headgear insignia is worn by female Army personnel centered on the hatband of the Service Hat. It is also worn on the Drill Sergeant Hat, centered between the top of the hat and the hatband.
