U.S. ARMY MATERIEL COMMAND COMBAT SERVICE ID BADGE (CSIB)

One of four major Army Commands, United States Army Materiel Command is responsible for the synchronization and integration of the Army’s total capabilities through the management of the global supply chain, logistics, and sustainment activities and processes across the force. It is also tasked with installation management and maintenance.

It was established in 1962 with its current designation, and the design of the Army Materiel Command Shoulder Sleeve Insignia which is also used for its Combat Service ID Badge, or CSIB, was approved on 29 October 1962. The Command was redesignated as the U.S. Army Materiel Development and Readiness Command, or DARCOM, on 23 January 1976, leading to the insignia’s redesignation for the new organization exactly one month later on 23 February 1976. Effective 1 August 1984, DARCOM was redesignated under the original designation of Army Materiel Command, followed by the insignia’s appropriate redesignation on 23 November 1984.
