U.S. ARMY MATERIEL COMMAND PATCH (SSI)

The United States Army Materiel Command Shoulder Sleeve Insignia, commonly referred to as a unit patch, was originally approved for in October 1962 for U.S. Army Materiel Command. Though redesignated for the U.S. Army Development and Readiness Command in February 1976, its designation was restored to U.S. Army Materiel Command on 23 November 1984.

Combined with the white area of the insignia, a white lozenge, or diamond, represents the Command and Control elements of the organization, known by its motto "America's Arsenal For The Brave." The red area represents the Army and the end users of the multitude of products that flow through the Command’s acquisition processes, while the blue stands for the industries that partner with the Command to manufacture and deliver them to the Army. This flow of materiel resulting from the equal and combined efforts of the Army and industry are also alluded to by the white area that is in the area between the red and blue.
