USMC CHIEF WARRANT OFFICER 5 GARRISON CAP RANK INSIGNIA

The distinctive nonsubdued metal insignia for the grade of Chief Warrant Officer 5—a single scarlet stripe running the entire length of the silver bar used for higher CWO grades—is prominently displayed on the Garrison Cap, worn exclusively with all three variants of the Corps’ Service uniform. It is worn on the wearer’s right side with the long axis vertical and positioned in the middle of the arc formed by the edge of the flap—the insignia bisects the flap, and the flap diagonally bisects the insignia.

Besides being worn on the Garrison Cap, this same sized CWO 5 rank insignia serves as collar devices (for the Service uniform’s khaki shirt) when sold in pairs and as the coat-rank insignia for the parka of the Extended Cold Weather Clothing System, where it is centered on the space provided for it on the parka’s zipper flap.
