USMC CHIEF WARRANT OFFICER 4 GARRISON CAP RANK INSIGNIA

The Garrison Cap is the standard headgear worn by both Officers and Enlisted personnel with the Marine Corps’ Service “A/B/C/” uniforms (although commanders of course have the authority to prescribe the Service frame cap in its place). All personnel wear subdued branch-of-service insignia on the left side of the cap, while Officers (including all Chief Warrant Officers and Warrant Officers) are required to wear rank insignia on the left side.

Chief Warrant Officer 4 (CWO-3) insignia is oriented so that the long axis is vertical. It is positioned by placed it at the mid-point of the arc formed by flap running from the front of the cap to the bottom, with the arc bisecting the insignia along a roughly diagonal line.

This same-sized CWO-4 rank insignia is worn on the parka component of the Extended Cold Weather Clothing System, centered on the space provided for it on the zipper flap of the ECWCS’ parka.
