MARINE CORPS CHIEF WARRANT OFFICER 4 COLLAR INSIGNIA (CWO-4)

The insignia of grade for Marine Corps Chief Warrant Officers 4—three scarlet enamel blocks superimposed and equally spaced on a silver bar—is worn as a collar device on khaki shirts (both long- and short-sleeve), the Marine Corps Combat Utility Uniform (MCCUU), and on the camouflage Maternity jacket.

Note that Chief Warrant Officers 4 (CWO-4s) must wear grade insignia on both sides of the khaki shirt collar even when wearing the Service or Dress uniform sweater over it. Grade insignia is also mandated whenever CW-O-4s area wearing the Service “A” uniform even though their rank insignia is displayed on the epaulets of the Service Uniform coat.

The CWO-4 rank insignia is worn centered between the top and bottom collar edge, with the bottom edge of the insignia one inch from and the long axis parallel to the collar’s front edge.

This very same insignia is worn on the Garrison Cap, but we feature it on our USMC > Hat Accessories page rather than here because the Cap requires just one device. As referenced earlier, a larger version of the insignia is worn on epaulets of Dress and Service Uniforms, as well as on other outerwear garments such as the All-Weather Coat and Tanker Jacket; click here to add the coat rank devices to your shopping cart.
