U.S. ARMY 308TH CIVIL AFFAIRS BRIGADE COMBAT SERVICE ID BADGE (CSIB)

Purple and white predominate in the design of the 308th Civil Affairs Brigade Combat Service ID Badge (CSIB), a metal pin-on facsimile of the color version of the Brigade’s Shoulder Sleeve Insignia-Military Operations in Hostile Conditions (SSI-MOHC). The purple-white-purple sections in the field represent the three stages of transition from conflict to peace. An upraised sword symbolizes the Brigade’s readiness to defend the peace through combat and post-combat phases. The gold of the sword and the insignia border stands for the ideals of excellence and achievement the Brigade pursues with its mission to “Advise Organize Direct” the stakeholders seeking peace.\

The SSI-MOHC upon which the CSIB IS based was approved on 3 February 1993.
