On the Marine Corps’ Garrison Cap, Chief Warrant Officer 2 (CWO-2) rank insignia is worn on the body portion of the cap on the wearer’s right side, opposite the branch-of-service insignia. The insignia is oriented with its long axis vertical and centered vertically on the body of the cap. Distance from the front edge of the cap is determined by placing the insignia on the mid-point of the arc formed by the flap so that the arc diagonally bisects the insignia.
Garrison caps may be worn by male and female Marines with Service uniforms. It is the default headgear for wear in formation unless the Service Cap has been prescribed by the commander.
This same insignia is also worn with the Extended Cold Weather Clothing System. It is centered on the space provided on the zipper flap of the parka.
