U.S. ARMY 335TH SIGNAL BRIGADE UNIT CREST (DUI)

Two orange flashes, a common element of Signal Corps insignia, provide emphasis to the unit motto “Ready Lightning” inscribed at the bottom of the 335th Signal Command Distinctive Unit Insignia, commonly referred to as a unit crest or a DUI. Behind each flash is a quadrate, one black and an one white: these symbolize the night-and-day mission involved in directing and coordinating operations, administration, training, and logistics for both assigned and attached units.

Between the motto and the flashes and quadrates is a stylized live oak tree, a symbol of both constant readiness and strength and, as the state tree of Georgia, the city of Atlanta where the Command was first activated in 1953 (it has been headquartered in the Atlanta suburb of East Point since 1971).

Also known as a unit crest or DUI, a Distinctive Unit Insignia is worn by all Soldiers (except General Officers) in units that have been authorized to be issued the device. It is worn centered on the shoulder loops of the Army Green Service Uniform (AGSU) and the blue Army Service Uniform (ASU, Enlisted only) with the base of the insignia toward the outside shoulder seam. More guidance on wear of the DUI is found in DA Pamphlet 670-1, Section 21-22, "Distinctive unit insignia" and 21–3(d) and (e), "Beret" and "Garrison Cap," respectively.

It was also tapped for a Meritorious Unit Citation for service between July 2005 and July 2006. and In 2016, the Command was chosen for one of the most important tasks in today’s Army Reserve: to serve as the Army Reserve Proponent of the Army Reserve Cyber Operations Group (ARCOG). Created from the Army Reserve Information Operations Command under the 76th Operational Readiness Command, the ARCOG brings Army Reserve Cyber Protection Teams under the command of 335th Signal Command to perform cyber missions in support of Army Reserve Cyber Command.
