The 350th Civil Affairs Command Shoulder Sleeve Insignia or SSI, commonly called a patch or unit patch, was approved on 6 October 1999—the same date that approval was granted for the Command’s Distinctive Unit Insignia (unit crest). Unlike many units’ patches and unit crests, which often are used to highlight different aspects of a unit’s lineage, heritage, or combat decorations, these two 350th Civil Affairs Command insignia are almost note-for-note the same, with only slight modifications to the various design elements.
On the 350th Civil Affairs Command unit patch, the Command’s home area and theater of operations in the Caribbean is symbolized a single purple mountain peak with a horizontal blue, wavy line near its base; the only differences from the same elements on the unit crest is that the patch has just one peak while the unit crest has three, and the unit crest has "Send Us" inscribed on the blue line. The patch has a white rope serving as annulet, tying the land and sea together to symbolize unity and constancy; a half-annulet of rope serves the same role on the unit crest. And the sword and olive branch, representing conflict and peacetime operations, is also used on the unit crest except the two are not crossed.
