The 177th Military Police Brigade Combat Service ID Badge, or CSIB, is a metal replica of the full-color version of its Shoulder Sleeve Insignia approved in 1988. CSIBs were introduced along with the Army Service Uniform (ASU) in 2008 (official wear date of 2015) to replace the full-color patch worn on the Class A Green service uniform which the ASU replaced. Based in Detroit as part of the Michigan Army National Guard at the time the Shoulder Sleeve Insignia was approved, the 177th Military Police Brigade relocated to the nearby city of Taylor in National Guard Region 2 in 1991 and remains headquartered there today. Units under the Brigade’s command also based at Taylor include the 77th MP Detachment, 210th MP Battalion, and the 1776th MP Company; the 1775th MP Company in Pontiac is also located in Region 2.
