The 107th Quartermaster Battalion Distinctive Unit Insignia—also called a “unit crest,” or a DUI for short—was originally approved on 7 March 2001. Buff (gold) and light blue found in the insignia reflect the unit’s status as affiliated with the Quartermaster Corps at the time the insignia was authorized. The Battalion’s home area is denoted by the indented base signifying Michigan’s Lower Peninsula and hilly belt. An elliptical globe indicates the Battalion is able to deploy worldwide in order to provide support for troops, while the key and sword are visual symbols of the Battalion’s mission of Supply (key) and Service (sword). The unit motto of “Support Sustain the Battle” plainly states the Battalion’s foremost goal, i.e., provide the means for Soldiers to continue the mission until victory has been achieved.
Distinctive Unit Insignias are worn by all Soldiers (except General Officers) in units that have been authorized to be issued the device. It is worn centered on the shoulder loops of the Army Green Service Uniform (AGSU) and the blue Army Service Uniform (ASU, Enlisted only) with the base of the insignia toward the outside shoulder seam. DUIs are not worn on the Dress variations of either uniform, however.♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦
