This sew-on embroidered version of the Coast Guard Auxiliary insignia for National Commodore (NACO) is the only one permitted to be worn as the collar device for the Operational Dress Uniform, the service’s year-round, everyday work uniform. Sew-on embroidered insignia may also be worn on the Jump suit as an optional choice.
To properly position the sew-on NACO collar device, start by orienting the row of stars vertically, with the letter “A” tilted inboard at a 90-degree angle and its top pointing toward the collar. Place the device on the collar so that the center of the bottom star is one inch from the collar’s outer and bottom edges.
