Distinctive Unit Insignias are worn by all Soldiers (except General Officers) in units that have been authorized to be issued the device. It is worn centered on the shoulder loops of the Army Green Service Uniform (AGSU) and the blue Army Service Uniform (ASU, Enlisted only) with the base of the insignia toward the outside shoulder seam. DUIs are not worn on the Dress variations of either uniform, however.

Headquartered at Camp Blanding in Starke, Florida, the 927th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion (CSSB) is a subordinate unit of the Florida Army National Guard’s 50th Regional Support Group. It has been called into Federal service twice since the launch of the Global War on Terrorism, earning a Meritorious Unit Commendation for its 2007-2008 deployment in support of division and corps-level assets within Multi-National Division-North as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom. In the Spring of 2019, the Battalion was to Afghanistan in support of Operation Freedom’s Sentinel, returning to Florida in December after a nine-month deployment.
As of Autumn 2023, the 927th CSSB comprises its Headquarters Company, four Quartermaster Companies, and a Maintenance Company.
