Our sleeve ornamentation for the USMC General Officer’s Evening Dress jacket is manufactured with the same type and color material as the jacket, with the three forward edges finished with two rows of gold beading bordered an embroidered row of scarlet silk. The pattern of zig-zag rows of oak leaves and acorns is similar to that found on the sleeve ornamentation used for Field-Grade Officer’s Evening Dress jackets, but the rows considerably larger and in much higher relief. Also, the midrib of each leaf is made with gold Jaceron.

The rear edge of the version of the sleeve ornamentation for male Evening Dress jackets features three distinct points, while the female version has a diagonal edge.

The Evening Dress “A” uniform is prescribed for highly formal events at which civilians would wear “white tie” clothing, e.g., State functions at the White House or foreign embassies, inaugural receptions and dinners, and formal dinners. Evening Dress “B” is intended for wear at “black tie” events such as formal dinner parties/dance, club affairs, and evening celebrations of the founding of the anniversary of the founding of the Marine Corps.

In addition to the standard function, USMC sleeve ornamentation is an excellent addition to a shadow box that honors the service of retired Marine Corps personnel.
