Male Officers and Chief Petty Officers wear the White Dress Shirt with the Service Dress Blue (SDB), Dinner Dress Blue (DDB), and Full Dress Blue (FDB) Uniforms. A long-sleeved shirt made with plain white authorized fabric, the White Dress Shirt is worn with a four-in-hand tie with the SDB and FDB Uniforms and with a black bow tie with the DDB. It features a single left breast pocket without a flap and plain white buttons. Both Officer and CPOs wear
soft shoulder boards over the epaulets the shirt is manufactured with.
This shirt is also worn by males serving in the Commissioned Corps of the United States Public Health Service with uniforms of the same name as in the Navy.
