Authorized as an optional wear item with the Female Service Khaki Uniform for Officers and Chief Petty Officers, the Service Khaki Skirt is manufactured with Certified Navy Twill, a 100% polyester fabric. It features two front welt pockets, belt loops, and a zipper closure.
There are several caveats Female personnel should be aware of when opting to wear the Service Khaki Skirt. First, it must be worn with flesh-tone hosiery and a khaki belt with gold buckle and clip, with the zipper centered in the back. Second, skirts may not be worn aboard ship (although they may be worn when immediately departing from or returning to a ship). And wear of the skirt is prohibited in an operating fire room because of its 100% polyester construction.
A properly sized skirt may fall anywhere from 1.5 inches above to 1.5 inches below the crease behind the knee. (Note: We ship the belted CNT skirt unhemmed so that you may have it altered to conform to regulations.)
