COAST GUARD OPERATIONS SYSTEMS SPECIALIST CWO SLEEVE DEVICE

Our sleeve device for Chief Warrant Officers (CWOs) serving as Operations Systems Specialists (OSS) combines two of the requisite sleeve insignias—the gold Coast Guard shield and the OSS specialty mark of an A-Scope superimposed on a diagonal arrow pointing upward and to the front—embroidered in gold thread on a square of blue serge fabric.

The OSS sleeve device is worn on both sleeves of the Service Dress Blue Coat. Place the insignia so that the bottom of the CG shield is 1/4-inch from the CWO rank stripe on the sleeve and the bottom of the sleeve device is parallel with the stripe, then horizontally center the shield and A-Scope on the outside of the sleeve.

The Operations Systems Specialty was created in 2005 and looks to the Operations Specialist rating for CWO candidates. Operations Specialist was established in 2003 through the merger of the Telecommunications, Radarman, and Quartermaster ratings.
