Coast Guard Chief Warrant Officers (CWOs) are the only personnel authorized to wear both their specialty marks and the gold Coast Guard shield on both sleeves. CWOs in the Electronics specialty will appreciate the convenience our embroidered sleeve device, which combines both insignia, properly oriented and spaced, on a single swatch of serge blue fabric to match the color and material of the Service Dress Blue coat.
Simply position the device so the two insignias are centered horizontally on the outside of the coat sleeve, then place it so the bottom of the shield is 1-4-inch from the top of the blue-and-gold CWO sleeve rank stripe.
The Electronics CWO Specialty was established in 1968. Candidates for appointment to the entry-level rank of Chief Warrant Officer 2 are drawn from Chief Petty Officers and Petty Officers First Class in the Electronics Technician rating.
