U.S. ARMY FEMALE ENLISTED HATBAND

The distinct shape of the hatband for the Service Hat worn by Enlisted females in the Army is due to the fact that it holds the enlisted Cap Device, while on the male Enlisted Service Cap the device is placed above the hat band through an eyelet on the cap cover. The female headgear insignia is centered horizontally and vertically on the circular portion of the hatband.

Another major difference between the male and female Enlisted hatbands is that the male version has a half-inch gold band along the top of the hatband, while the hatband for female Service Hats has three rows of stitching in matching thread in lieu of the gold band. The hatband forms a straight line around the head that’s parallel to the ground when the Service Hat is worn properly.
