U.S. ARMY COMBINED ARMS SUPPORT COMMAND & FORT LEE COMBAT SERVICE ID BADGE (CSIB)

One of five major subordinate commands of U.S Army Training and Doctrine Command, the United States Army Combined Support Command (CASCOM) was originally established on 2 October 1990 through the consolidation of the U.S. Army Logistics Center and U.S. Army Soldier Support Center. Located at Fort Gregg-Adams (formerly named Fort Lee) in Virginia, CASCOM has five subordinate commands comprising three branch schools (Ordnance, Quartermaster, and Transportation), the Soldier Support Institute (which oversees the Adjutant General, Financial Management, and Recruiting and Retention Schools), and Army Logistics University.

The design of the CASCOM Combat Service ID Badge, or CSIB, is based entirely on that of the organization’s Shoulder Sleeve Insignia-Military Operations in Hostile Conditions Insignia (SSI-MOHC), an insignia formerly known as SSI-FWTS (Former WarTime Service).

In the center of the diamond-shaped insignia are five blue discs surmounted by a four-pointed star. The discs denote the five major elements of Logistics—Facilities, Maintenance, Services, Supply, and Transportation), while the four-pointed star is an allusion to the four primary points of a compass rose, signifying the Command’s responsibility for global Logistics application. The blue of the discs is the color of loyalty and constancy; the red border of the diamond stands for combat, courage, and sacrifice. White is the color of integrity and pure intent

The design of the SSI-MOHC upon which this Combat Service ID Badge is based was approved on 13 June 1991.
