The 290th Military Police Brigade Combat Service ID Badge replicates the Brigade’s unit patch, or Shoulder Sleeve Insignia, with two crossed Medieval weapons called partizans on a yellow field inside a nine-sided polygon that is evocative of prisoner-of-war or military facilities whose operations fall under the command of Military Police. Green and yellow are the traditional colors associated with Military Police units.
Combat Service ID Badges are worn on the wearer’s right. For male personnel, they are centered on the breast pocket of the Army Service Uniform jacket and worn centered between the two uppermost button on the jacket worn with the Mess and Evening Mess uniforms. Female personnel place the CSIB parallel to the waistline of the jacket of the ASU, with the top of the badge roughly flush with the second button from the bottom (females are allowed to adjust this placement based on their body shape). On the Mess and Evening Mess uniforms, females wear the CSIB centered between the lower buttons of the jacket.
Although regulations call for wear of miniature ID badges on Mess and Evening Mess uniforms, an exception is made for the Combat Service Identification Badge because it is not manufactured in a miniature size.
