U.S. ARMY SPECIAL OPERATIONS SUPPORT COMMAND (AIRBORNE) FLASH AND OVAL

The flash and oval for the U.S. Army Special Operations Support Command (Airborne), or SOSCOM (A), were both approved on 3 February 1992 while the Command was still provisional; it would not be formally activated until 1 November 1995. With its creation, it replaced the numbered Special Operations Support Commands (3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th).

Headquartered at Fort Bragg, SOSCOM (A) has elements and detachments in every major theater across the globe and is the standalone provider of CSS (Combat Service Support), special operations signal support, and combat health support not only for Army Special Forces, but also joint Special Operations.

A subordinate brigade under U.S. Army Special Operations Command (USASOC), SOSCOM (A) comprises the 528th Special Operations Support Battalion (Airborne), 112th Special Operations Signal Battalion (Airborne), USACO Materiel Management Center, and a Headquarters and Headquarters Company. It also includes Special Operations Theater Support Elements (SOTSEs) embedded in each theater Army Command (U.S. Army Europe, U.S. Army Pacific, etc.), as well as five Signal detachments that are integrated into regional Special Operations Commands.
