U.S. ARMY 333RD MILITARY POLICE BRIGADE UNIT CREST (DUI)

Better known as a unit crest or a DUI, the Distinctive Unit Insignia (unit crest) of the 333rd Military Police Brigade was originally approved for the 800th Military Police Brigade; it was redesignated for the unit in 2012. Rendered entirely in the Military Police branch colors of green and yellow, the insignia is designed as a shield with a scroll containing the unit motto, VIRES IN ARDUIS (“Strength In Difficulties”) attached at the bottom. In the yellow-colored bend inside the shield is a sprig of oak leaves with two acorns; these refer to the original activation of the unit as the 800th Military Police Battalion under live oak trees at Ford Ord, California in June 1942. Acorns are also symbols of endurance, courage, growing strength, and resolute purpose.

Distinctive Unit Insignias are worn by all Soldiers (except General Officers) in units that have been authorized to be issued the device. It is worn centered on the shoulder loops of the Army Green Service Uniform (AGSU) and the blue Army Service Uniform (ASU, Enlisted only) with the base of the insignia toward the outside shoulder seam. Current regulations do not permit the DUI to be worn on the Dress variations of either uniform, however.

As of Autumn 2023, the 333rd Military Police Brigade is allotted to the United States Army Reserve and is assigned to the 200th Military Police Command. In addition to its Headquarters and Headquarters Company, the Brigade consists of five Military Police Battalions: the 310th , 336th, 340th, 400th, and 744th.

The Brigade is headquartered in Farmingdale, New York.
