U.S. ARMY 126TH SUPPORT BATTALION UNIT CREST (DUI)

The 101st Support Battalion Distinctive Unit Insignia, also called a DUI or a unit crest, was originally approved for the 26th Division Quartermaster Train on 16 July 1927. On 4 December 1928, it was amended to correct the motto. A dozen years later, the coat of arms was approved and reassigned for the 101st Quartermaster Regiment. It was then authorized for the 26th Supply and Transport Battalion on 23 December 1964. The insignia was cancelled from February 1988 until it was reinstated and redesignated for the 101st Quartermaster Battalion on 1 September 1995. It received its final redesignation for the 126th Support Battalion, later known as the 126th Brigade Support Battalion, on 23 February 2007.

Blue is used for the shield to signify that the organization served with an Infantry Division (the 26th
—see below), and also that the bulk of the personnel that formed the 101st Supply Train were drawn from Infantry units. Gold barrulets (horizontal bars) are used to indicate that a portion of the unit’s personnel were drawn from the Cavalry. Six fleur-de-lis between the barrulets are used to symbolize the six operations in which the organization took part during World War I. The unit motto, NON SIBI SED OMNIBUS, is a Latin phrase that translates as “Not For Self But For All."

Full guidance on wear of the DUI is found in DA Pamphlet 670-1, Section 21-22, "Distinctive unit insignia" and 21–3(d) and (e), "Beret" and "Garrison Cap," respectively.

The 126th Brigade Support Battalion was originally constituted in the National Guard as the 2nd Company, 101st Supply Train on 18 July 1917. After serving in World War I as the 101st Supply Train assigned to the 101st Division, the unit was reorganized and Federally recognized in the Massachusetts National Guard as the 1st Supply Train and assigned to the 26th Division (later known as the 26th Infantry Division).

This marked the start of a century of affiliation with the Division and its successor organizations, the 26th Infantry Brigade Combat Team and 26th Maneuver Enhancement, both units in the Massachusetts Army National Guard. Its battle honors include six campaigns in World War I and eight in World War II (including one with an Arrowhead device for an assault landing), and during World War II its courage and success were recognized with a Presidential Unit Citation, two Meritorious Unit Commendations, a Philippine Presidential Unit Citation, and a citation in the Order of the Day of the Belgian Army.

The 126th Brigade Support Battalion has been assigned to the 26th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade since September 2008.
