U.S. ARMY 1ST PERSONNEL COMMAND UNIT CREST

Traditionally, the Adjutant General’s Corps has served as operators of the Army’s personnel and administrative systems, and its dark blue and scarlet colors are included in the 1st Personnel Command’s Unit Crest (Distinctive Unit Insignia) to denote the unit’s affiliation with the AG Corps. 1st Personnel Command’s first home in the European Theater was in Schwetzingen, and the gold lion here is adapted from the city’s coat of arms. Four pillars at the bottom of the device stand for the four main areas of 1st Personnel’s mission: Personnel, Administrative Management, Morale Support, and Postal. This traditional but eye-catching design borrows nothing except some colors from the unit's CSIB, or Combat Service Identification Badge.
