Worn by Army personnel serving in the Army Field Support Battalion-Benelux, the 405th Support Battalion Distinctive Unit Insignia approved on 3 May 2013. The three division of the upper and middle portion of the shield denote the basic branches of Logistics handled by the Battalion: crimson for Ordnance, buff for Quartermaster, and brick red for Transportation. A star in each field suggest steadiness and convey the importance of each branch to the success of the mission.
A yellow chevron is a symbol of unwavering support, with the way blue bar that spans the width of the chevron alluding to water, namely the Des Plaines river near the unit’s location in North Riverside, Illinois. The upright bayonet is a symbol of military readiness. SUSTENETE VIS, the Battalion motto, is Latin for “Support The Force.”
Also known as a unit crest or DUI, the Distinctive Unit Insignia is worn by all Soldiers (except General Officers) in units that have been authorized to be issued the device. It is worn centered on the shoulder loops of the Army Green Service Uniform (AGSU) and the blue Army Service Uniform (Enlisted only) with the base of the insignia toward the outside shoulder seam. DUIs are not worn on the Dress variations of either uniform, however.
Full guidance on wear of the DUI is found in DA Pamphlet 670-1,

Headquartered at Eygelshoven, Netherlands, Army Field Support Battalion-Benelux is one of four Battalions assigned to the 405th Army Field Support Brigade. The Battalion is tasked with the provision and coordination of receiving, transferring, storing, and maintaining Army Prepositioned Stocks (APS). The APS in Zutendall (Belgium) was designed to store and maintain equipment necessary to support a Sustainment Brigade, with 600,000 square feet of climated-controlled storage and 40,000 square feet of hardstand storage space.
