The Iraq Campaign Medal is a military decoration of the United States armed forces which was created by Executive Order of President George W. Bush on May 28, 2004.Iraq Campaign medal was awarded to a soldier who has been assigned or attached to a unit participating in Operation Iraqi Freedom(OIF) for 30 consecutive days or for 60 nonconsecutive days in Iraq.
It is also awarded to the soldier who was engaged in actual combat against the enemy and under circumstances involving grave danger of death or serious bodily injury from enemy action, regardless, of time in the Iraq.The Iraq Campaign Medal became available for general distribution in June of 2005.
