Positioned so that the lower edge of the stripe is two inches from the bottom of the sleeve, the lacing encircles the entire sleeve. Unrestricted and Restricted Line Officers wear a five-pointed gold star one-quarter-inch above the stripe with one ray pointing down; Staff Officers will wear the appropriate Corps device the same distance from the stripe positioned according to the guidance in Article 4102 of the United States Navy Uniform Regulations.
