The Distinctive Unit Insignia for Dental Activity, Fort Cavazos (formerly known as Fort Hood until Spring 2023) was approved on 28 May 1981. When the unit was discontinued, the insignia was cancelled with an effective date of 30 September 2016.
An arrow replaces the Rod in the Rod of Asclepius in the center of the insignia, with its golden color and upward orientation symbolizing the high goals of DENTAC, Fort Cavazos, exemplified by unceasing striving to gain further knowledge and to improve dental care. The Triangle is an emblem that represents the cohesiveness and dedication of the three groups of people in the DENTAC organization: Officers, Enlisted, and Civilian; it also highlights the three organization’s three characteristics in the mott: “Quality, Care, Concern.”
