U.S. ARMY 95TH REGIMENT UNIT CREST (DUI)

The 95th Regiment Distinctive Unit Insignia—also called a unit crest or a DUI—was first approved for the 360th Field Artillery, Organized Reserves on 5 October 1938. It was redesignated for the 360th Field Artillery Battalion on 22 September 1942, and one final time in January 1962 for the 95th Regiment, Army Reserve. Its red shield denotes the organization’s genesis as part of the Field Artillery branch; the color is also sacred to Native Americans of the Oklahoma, the unit’s founding area, as it represents success and strength. Four bear claws are another reference to the Native Americans, who view them as symbol of courage, skill, and strength. NIE-ECON-NIM, the unit motto, translates into English as “I Am Ready.”

Distinctive Unit Insignias are worn by all Soldiers (except General Officers) in units that have been authorized to be issued the device. It is worn centered on the shoulder loops of the Army Green Service Uniform (AGSU) and the blue Army Service Uniform (ASU, Enlisted only) with the base of the insignia toward the outside shoulder seam. More guidance on wear of the DUI is found in DA Pamphlet 670-1,
Section 21-22, "Distinctive unit insignia" and 21–3(d) and (e), "Beret" and "Garrison Cap," respectively.

Since 1959, the 95th Regiment has been an Army Reserve Training organization with its Headquarters and Headquarters Company designated as an element of the 95th Division. For its first four decades, all the Regiment’s Battalions were also elements of the 95th Division, which has been classified as an Institutional Training unit since 1994. As of Autumn 2023, three of its Battalions carry on their Training mission serving with the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Brigades in the fields of Ordnance, Transportation, and Personnel Services, respectively.
