The 6250th U.S. Army Hospital is an inactivated unit of the U.S. Army Reserve Medical Command. When mobilized, it supports Joint Base Lewis-McChord, and was also deployed to Germany on more than one occasion. In July 2014, for instance, personnel from the 6250th U.S. Army Hospital provided medical support for Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 4th Battalion, 319th Airborne Field Regiment, 173rd Infantry Brigade (Airborne)at the U.S. Army's 7th Army Joint Multinational Training Command Grafenwoehr Training Area in Germany.

Maroon and white are the dominant colors of the 6250th U.S. Army Hospital Distinctive Unit Insignia, also called a unit crest or a DUI. In the center if the Staff or Asclepius, also called the Rod of Asclepius, with a serpent entwined around a staff; the blue background signifies medical achievement and excellence. A maroon cross, with the four arms ending in a cross (crosslet), is an allusion to the unit’s mission of augmenting existing Army medical units. Four gold points emanating from the cross, along with the four crosslets, suggest the eight most common compass points and allude to the unit’s ability to mobilize and deploy anywhere. The unit’s motto is “Beyond Excellence.”
The 6250th U.S. Army Hospital Distinctive Unit Insignia was approved on 13 August 1985.
Distinctive Unit Insignias are worn by all Soldiers (except General Officers) in units that have been authorized to be issued the device. It is worn centered on the shoulder loops of the Army Green Service Uniform (AGSU) and the blue Army Service Uniform (ASU, Enlisted only) with the base of the insignia toward the outside shoulder seam.
