U.S. ARMY 515TH REGIMENT UNIT CREST (DUI)

Also known as a unit crest or DUI, a Distinctive Unit Insignia is worn by all Soldiers (except General Officers) in units that have been authorized to be issued the device. It is worn centered on the shoulder loops of the Army Green Service Uniform (AGSU) and the blue Army Service Uniform (ASU, Enlisted only) with the base of the insignia toward the outside shoulder seam. DUIs are not worn on the Dress variations of either uniform, however.

More guidance on wear of the DUI is found in DA Pamphlet 670-1,
Section 21-22, "Distinctive unit insignia" and 21–3(d) and (e), "Beret" and "Garrison Cap," respectively.

Red, yellow, and blue are all found in the Distinctive Unit Insignia of the 515th Regiment, with each color representing a distinct combat arm (blue for Infantry, yellow for Armor/Cavalry, Red for Artillery). The symbol I the middle of the shield portion of the unit crest is an Avanyu, a traditional symbol of Pueblo Indians and is a reference to the New Mexico region, and the border of the shield denotes the unit’s heritage and relationship with other New Mexico ARNG units. “ADELANTE,” the unit motto, translates in English as “Forward.”

The 515th Regiment Distinctive Unit Insignia was authorized for wear on 2 January 1998.
