U.S. ARMY 50TH REGIONAL SUPPORT GROUP UNIT CREST (DUI)

Also known as unit crests, Distinctive Unit Insignias (DUIs) are worn by all Soldiers (except General Officers) in units that have been authorized to be issued the device. It is worn centered on the shoulder loops of the Army Green Service Uniform (AGSU) and the blue Army Service Uniform (Enlisted only) with the base of the insignia toward the outside shoulder seam. DUIs are not worn on the Dress variations of either uniform, however.

Enlisted personnel wear the insignia centered on a shoulder loop by placing it an equal distance from the outside shoulder seam to the outside edge of the shoulder-loop button. Officers (except Generals) wearing grade insignia on the shoulder loops center the DUI by placing it an equal distance between the inside edge of the grade insignia and the outside edge of the button.

More guidance on wear of the DUI is found in DA Pamphlet 670-1,
Section 21-22, "Distinctive unit insignia" and 21–3(d) and (e), "Beret" and "Garrison Cap," respectively.

The 50th Regional Support Group Distinctive Unit Insignia, or unit crest, was originally approved for the 50th Support Group, which was formed in 1988 from the Headquarters and Headquarters Battery of the 227th Field Artillery Brigade and relocated to Homestead, Florida. As part of the Florida Army National Guard, the organization stands ready for active Federal service and is frequently deployed in response to natural disasters such as floods, hurricanes, and tornadoes, embodying the mission implied by the unit motto “Success In Support.”

Approved on 29 July 1977 when the unit was operating under a different designation, the 50th Regional Support Group unit crest uses scarlet and buff for the border and interior field of the design; these are colors associated with Support organizations. The blue design in the middle is actually a rendering of the Castillo de San Marcos in St. Augustine, Florida, which is both the oldest and largest masonry fort in the continental United States. St. Augustine is the home of the Headquarters, Florida Army National Guard.

As of Winter 2024, the 50th Regional Support Group remains an active unit in the Florida Army National Guard and is headquartered at Camp Blanding Joint Training Center in Starke, Florid
