The Regimental Distinctive Insignia of the 41st Field Artillery Regiment, sometimes referred to as a unit crest, combines elements from the coat of arms of two from two of its previous incarnations—the 41st Coast Artillery Regiment and the 41st Field Artillery Battalion—to celebrate its formation through their consolidation on 28 June 1950.

The red, white, and blue bend is taken from the 41st Coast Artillery Regiment and has the eight bars of the old Hawaiian flag, while upward-pointing arrow is from the 41st Field Artillery Battalion’s arms and emphasizes speed of movement and the shock of attack. “Mission Accomplished” was chosen for the unit motto at the time the insignia was approved on 11 January 1952.

Although the Regiment’s 4th Battalion was not activated until 1963 and was subsequently inactivated and reflagged as the 1st Battalion, the Regiment’s lineage extends back to 1918 when it was constituted as the 41st Coast Artillery (1st Battalion’s lineage goes back to Battery A in that regiment). It or its subordinate units has participated in campaigns in World War II, Vietnam, Persian Gulf War (Southwest Asia) and the War on Terrorism.

1st Battalion, 41st Field Artillery Regiment has earned two Meritorious Unit Citations and a Presidential Unit Citation in the decade between 2003 and 2013, while the Regiment’s Headquarters and Headquarters Battery was chosen for a Valorous Unit Award for its service between 7 March 2003 and 1 May 2003.
