U.S. ARMY 419TH TRANSPORTATION BATTALION UNIT CREST (DUI)

The 419th Transportation Battalion Distinctive Unit Insignia—a device also known as a unit crest or DUI—was originally approved on 2 June 1967. Brick red and gold, branch colors of the Transportation Corps, are used for the background and text respectively of the unit motto “Support To The Line” seen on the band encircling a green disc in the center of the insignia. Together, the band and disc simulate the wheels from the branch insignia of the Transportation and Quartermaster Corps to denote the Battalion’s parent organization. The arrow symbolizes all the types of warfare based within the confines of the wheel symbol, suggesting the overall mission of the organization, and the prongs emulate a road symbol for direction, indication, and flow; it also represents three to seven Transportation Companies the unit commanded and supervised. "Support To The Line" is the Battalion motto.

Guidance on wear of the DUI is found in DA Pamphlet 670-1,
Section 21-22, "Distinctive unit insignia" and 21–3(d) and (e), "Beret" and "Garrison Cap," respectively.
