U.S. ARMY 390TH PERSONNEL GROUP UNIT CREST (DUI)

The 390th Personnel Group Distinctive Unit Insignia, also referred to as a DUI or a “unit crest,” was approved on 4 September 1992. Its dark blue and scarlet tones are the colors traditionally associated with the heraldry of Personnel units, and when combined with the white (silver) also recalls our national colors of red, white, and blue. In the center, the blue triangle suggests a mountain, an allusion to the Group’s heritage and its affiliation with the 80th Division (Training); blue is also the color of loyalty and devotion to duty. Red is the heraldic color symbolizing zeal and courage, and white/silver connotes honesty and integrity.

A pair of upright, crossed swords embodies the concepts of military strength and preparedness. Below the swords is a plumed Confederate that signifies Mosby’s Rangers, the unit’s heritage, and its assignment to the 310th Theater Army Command, now known as the 310th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) (also called the 310th Expeditionary Sustainment Command). “Manning The Victory” has been the motto of the 390th Personnel Group since this insignia was approved.

The U.S. Army Center of Military History has no information on the lineage and history of the 390th Personnel Group, but the the Group's participation in the Global War on Terrorism campaign was confirmed on 8 September 2010 in Army General Order 2010-14.

There is no indication that the 390th Personnel Group is active as of Autumn 2023.
