U.S. ARMY 364TH REGIMENT UNIT CREST (DUI)

The 364th Regiment was originally constituted in the National Army as the 364th Infantry and assigned to the 91st Division on 5 August 1917. Assigned to the 182nd Infantry Brigade, 91st Division (later redesignated as the 91st Infantry Division), the Regiment took part I the Ypres-Lys, Meuse-Argonne, and Lorraine 1918 campaigns before returning to the U.S. and being demobilized in April 1919 at Camp Kearny, California.

Like so many Infantry Regiments formed in 1917 in the National Army, precursor to the Army of the United States, the 364th Infantry was then reconstituted in the Organized Reserves with the same designation and assigned to the same parent unit, the 91st Division, in June 1921. It was relieved from its assignment to the 91st Division on 30 January 1942 and was simultaneously converted and redesignated as the 364th Coast Artillery before being disbanded on 2 April 1943.

On 29 October 1998, the unit was reconstituted for the second time in its history as the 364th Infantry. The following year, it was redesignated as the 364th Regiment and reorganized to consist of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Battalions, all elements of the 91st Division and with the last being allotted to the Regular Army. In 2007, the Regiment was relieved from assignment to the 91st Division, and today all three Battalions are Training organizations that are assigned to the 189th Combined Arms Training Brigade.

1st Training Support Battalion is a Multi-Functional Training Brigade that provides instruction in a variety of areas (including but not limited to CBRN, Communications, Drivers Training, Combat Lifesaver, Land Navigation, and Small Arms); 2nd Battalion trains in Combat Sustainment Support; and 3rd Battalion offers Engineer training.

The 364th Regiment Distinctive Unit Insignia was first approved for the 364th Regiment Infantry on 11 February 1925. It was redesignated for the 364th Coast Artillery Regiment (AntiAircraft) on 30 September 1942, but this designation was rescinded in March 1975. On 2 October 1998, it was reinstated and redesignated for the 364th Infantry Regiment, followed by its current designation (with an updated description) on 16 April 1999.

Also known as a unit crest or DUI, a Distinctive Unit Insignia is worn by all Soldiers (except General Officers) in units that have been authorized to be issued the device. It is worn centered on the shoulder loops of the Army Green Service Uniform (AGSU) and the blue Army Service Uniform (ASU, Enlisted only) with the base of the insignia toward the outside shoulder seam. DUIs are not worn on the Dress variations of either uniform, however.

More guidance on wear of the DUI is found in DA Pamphlet 670-1,
Section 21-22, "Distinctive unit insignia" and 21–3(d) and (e), "Beret" and "Garrison Cap," respectively.
