Also known as a unit crest or DUI, a Distinctive Unit Insignia is worn by all Soldiers (except General Officers) in units that have been
authorized to be issued the device. It is worn centered on the shoulder loops of the Army Green Service Uniform (AGSU) and the blue Army Service Uniform (Enlisted only) with the base of the insignia toward the outside shoulder seam. DUIs are not worn on the Dress variations of either uniform, however.
For Enlisted personnel, the insignia is centered on a shoulder loop by placing it an equal distance from the outside shoulder seam to the outside edge of the shoulder-loop button. Officers (except Generals) wearing grade insignia on the shoulder loops center the DUI by placing it an equal distance between the inside edge of the grade insignia and the outside edge of the button.

The 352nd Combat Support Hospital Distinctive Unit Insignia features the maroon cross associated with Army Medical units positioned just above a white chevron, a traditional symbol of support in heraldry. Both are superimposed over the rays of light emanating from a sun at the bottom of the insignia, reflecting the location of the unit in the “Sunshine State” of California. The words “Support Comfort Heal” are the unit motto and reflect the primary functions of this type of unit.
Along with the 396th Combat Support Hospital and the 145th Multifunctional Medical Battalion, the 352nd Combat Support Hospital is one of three units comprising the 2nd Medical Brigade. The 352nd Combat Support Hospital, or CSH (pronounced “cash”), is located in Dublin, California about a half-hour-drive from San Francisco and San Jose. It comprises four Medical Detachments: the 114th, 1488th, 1895th, and 1980th.
