The Institute of Heraldry has no information regarding the approval, redesignation, or symbolism of the 213th Quartermaster Battalion Distinctive Unit Insignia (also referred to as a unit crest or DUI) except to note that the Battalion’s unit motto of “Serve” was previously the motto for the 213th Supply and Service Battalion, an indication that this was the Battalion’s previous designation. (This does not, however, mean that it was the Battalion’s only prior designation.)
Both the 213th Supply and Service and 213th Quartermaster Battalions were part of the Wisconsin Army National Guard. As a Supply and Service Battalion, the unit was deployed for Operation Desert Storm as part of the 7th Corps Support Group. It is not an active unit as of the Autumn 2023.

Distinctive Unit Insignias are worn by all Soldiers (except General Officers) in units that have been authorized to be issued the device. It is worn centered on the shoulder loops of the Army Green Service Uniform (AGSU) and the blue Army Service Uniform (ASU, Enlisted only) with the base of the insignia toward the outside shoulder seam. DUIs are not worn on the Dress variations of either uniform, however.
