In the middle of the 13th Financial Management Support Center’s Distinctive Unit Insignia (DUI), or unit crest, is a lozenge (diamond-shaped emblem); its red border denotes the unit’s service during World War II and in Vietnam. The dragon atop the crest has been adapted from the Vietnam Service Medal and is used to commemorate the unit’s 15 campaigns in the conflict there; three red swords reflect the number of Meritorious Unit Commendations that were earned during those campaigns. A laurel is a traditional symbol of achievement and is strategically placed above the unit’s motto of “Combat Multiplier.”
The 13th Financial Management Support Center was officially inactivated during a ceremony held on 5 December 2013 at Fort Hood, Texas, which was renamed Fort Cavazos in May 2023.
