The Unit Crest of the 11th ACR pays homage
to the history of the regiments oldest component, the 11th Cavalry. Two bolos, or machetes, represent the unit’s actions in the jungles of the Philippines, while the cactus stands for the mounted troopers service along the Mexican border in 1916. A black horsehead acknowledges the ACR’s Special Designation of “Blackhorse” (see the CSIB description for an explanation)
. The motto, “Allons,” variously means “Come” or “Let’s Go,” depending on usage.
