U.S. ARMY 204TH MANEUVER ENHANCEMENT BRIGADE UNIT CREST (DUI)

Also known as a unit crest or DUI, a Distinctive Unit Insignia is worn by all Soldiers (except General Officers) in units that have been authorized to be issued the device. It is worn centered on the shoulder loops of the Army Green Service Uniform (AGSU) and the blue Army Service Uniform (ASU, Enlisted only) with the base of the insignia toward the outside shoulder seam. Current regulations do not permit the DUI to be worn on the Dress variations of either uniform, however.

More guidance on wear of the DUI is found in DA Pamphlet 670-1,
Section 21-22, "Distinctive unit insignia" and 21–3(d) and (e), "Beret" and "Garrison Cap," respectively.

The 204th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade Distinctive Unit Insignia was approved for wear on 1 November 1971 for the 115th Engineer Group, which was originally constituted in the Utah National Guard in 1920 as 115th Engineer Regiment (Combat), an element of the 40th Division. A white square, oriented to resemble a diamond with three wavy blue lines and found inside a scarlet hexagon, simulates an island and is a reference to the unit’s service in the Pacific in World War II. Three wavy lines represent the three campaign streamers was awarded for participation in the Bismarck Archipelago, Southern Philippines, and Luzon campaigns. The white upper portion of the square simulates a diamond tip and is an allusion to the Arrowhead device the unit was awarded for taking part in an assault landing at Luzon.

The hexagon rests on a Philippine sun, a nod to the Philippine Presidential Unit Citation the unit was awarded, and creates the appearance of a cell from a bee hive, an allusion to the unit’s home in the Bee Hive state of Utah. "Solidarity In Purpose," the unit motto, is inscribed in white to reflect purity of purpose.

Headquartered in Bluffdale, Utah, the 204th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade is an active unit in the Utah Army National Guard as of Autumn 2023. In addition to its HQ and HQ Company and subordinate units include the 1457th Engineer Battalion and the 489th Brigade Support Battalion.
