U.S. ARMY 379TH REGIMENT UNIT CREST (DUI)

Also known as a unit crest or DUI, a Distinctive Unit Insignia is worn by all Soldiers (except General Officers) in units that have been authorized to be issued the device. It is worn centered on the shoulder loops of the Army Green Service Uniform (AGSU) and the blue Army Service Uniform (ASU, Enlisted only) with the base of the insignia toward the outside shoulder seam. DUIs are not worn on the Dress variations of either uniform, however.

More guidance on wear of the DUI is found in DA Pamphlet 670-1,
Section 21-22, "Distinctive unit insignia" and 21–3(d) and (e), "Beret" and "Garrison Cap," respectively.

The 379th Regiment Distinctive Unit Insignia was first approved on 24 February 1926 for the 379th Infantry Regiment. Redesignated for the 379th Regiment on 24 January 1962, the insignia was amended to revise its symbolism on 13 April 1970.

A blue shield recalls the Infantry heritage of the 379th Regiment, while the charges upon it commemorate the state of Oklahoma, the first location to which the Regiment was first allocated. The bend is a reference to a strip of landed ceded to the Cherokee Indians called the “Cherokee Strip,” which almost completely contained with the original territory of the 379th Infantry Regiment. Inside the bend are three bendlets of wavy gold that stand for the three river which span Northern Oklahoma: the Arkansas, the Cimarron, and the Canadian.

Oklahoma’s status as part of the Spanish Conquest and subsequent Louisiana Purchase is reflected in the color blue, the color of France, while the yellow and red are the colors of Spain; red is also a color associated with Indian country, thus the red bend and yellow bendlets. AD FINEM is the unit motto, a Latin phrase that translate in English as “To The End.”

As of March 2023, the 379th Regiment does not appear to have any active Battalions. Customers with any status update on the 379th Regiment and/or its Battalions are encouraged to
