“Eager To Build,” the unit motto of the long-inactive 329th Engineer Group, is displayed on its Distinctive Unit Insignia and sums up the basic function of the organization and its zeal in carrying it out its mission. A black plumb line and roof frame are images
associated with construction, while the three sides of the frame, when combined with the palm branches, are an allusion to the unit’s three World War II campaigns in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater (Leyte, Luzon and New Guinea). A castle tower in the background, suggested by the wartime coat of arms of the Philippines, is an allusion to the Philippine Presidential Unit Citation the Group was awarded following World War II.
The 329th Engineer Group Distinctive Unit Insignia was approved on July 1973.

Also known as a unit crest or DUI, a Distinctive Unit Insignia is worn by all Soldiers (except General Officers) in units that have been authorized to be issued the device. It is worn centered on the shoulder loops of the Army Green Service Uniform (AGSU) and the blue Army Service Uniform (ASU, Enlisted only) with the base of the insignia toward the outside shoulder seam. DUIs are not worn on the Dress variations of either uniform, however.
