The 213th Medical Brigade Shoulder Sleeve Insignia, also called a unit patch, was approved on 10 September 1975. The white background and maroon cross and border are Medical Department colors. A cross is a symbol for aid and represents the medical mission of the Brigade, while the blue trident is a symbol for the Mississippi River, known as the “Father of Waters,” and by extension the state of Mississippi.

A 1995 consolidation of the 213th Medical Brigade and the 134th Combat Support Hospital led to the creation of the final iteration of the 213th Medical Brigade with its home station in Jackson, Mississippi. The 134th Combat Support Hospital had earned campaign credit for participating in the Rhineland and Central Europe campaigns; the 213th Medical Brigade’s earlier predecessor was Medical Detachment, 114th Engineer Combat Battalion in the Mississippi Army National Guard.

Neither unit was honored with decorations, and the 213th Medical Brigade is no longer displayed on the Mississippi Army National Guard website.
