U.S. ARMY 120TH ARMY RESERVE COMAND PATCH (SSI)

The 120th Army Reserve Command Shoulder Sleeve Insignia, or unit patch was approved for wear from 20 September 1963 until the Command’s inactivation in 1996. It features two interlaced angle irons which when joined serve to strengthen individual structural components. Their appearance simulates two intertwined “Cs” as a reference to the relationship and cooperation between the Carolinas in support of the Army Reserve (the Command also covered parts of Georgia).

Each angle iron also has the appearance of the Roman numeral “C,” and the areas where they are interlaced create two “Xs,” thus creating the numerical designation of the unit. The red and white halves of the field represent North and South Carolina.
