The Army Service Uniform trousers worn by General Officers are manufactured with the same color material as the ASU coats (Army Shade 150 or 450), while other Officers and Enlisted personnel that are lighter (Army Shade 151 or 451) than their coats. Learn more.

The back hem of the the ASU trousers should fall between the top of the heel and the top of the standard shoe, and the front crease should reach the top of the instep.
Aside from leg ornamentation and a mandatory belt, the trousers of the male Army Service Uniform are almost bereft of any ornamentation or accessories.

Trouser Leg Ornamentation: Almost all grades and ranks of Army personnel wear gold braids on the outside seams as ornamentation on the trouser legs of the ASU.

Black Belt with Brass Tip and Buckle: Males wear the 1.25" brass tip belt with brass buckle with the ASU and is Dress uniform variation. This does not preclude them from also wearing suspenders since regulations require that suspenders not be visible when worn.
